Sales & Service Agent Job Description:

Job Summary: Assist in maintaining an efficient, positive environment that ensures present company customer service standards, sales goals and objectives are met. Position requires ability to coordinate, prioritizes, and processes all office duties in a professional, timely manner.

 Duties:

  • Promotes sales specials, up sale and meet sales quotas

  • Answer telephones and requests for service

  • Speak directly with clients, answering questions, booking reservations and giving quotes over the phone and in writing via email

  • Greet visitors at the front entrance

  • Maintaining solid customer relationships by handling reservations, questions and concerns with speed and professionalism as described in the employee hand book.

  • Monitor the workloads and prioritizes tasks

  • Process and transmit information to field personnel via phone, text or computer-aided dispatch systems

  • Monitor company email boxes and process requests

  • Record information as required by the company

  • Maintains booking calendar

  • Confirms reservations

  • Collecting payments for trips

  • Data entry and use of software programs

  • Researching to troubleshoot customer problems

  • Communicating with drivers, office staff and customers verbally and in writing

  • Executes all terms and conditions as set forth in BAC Transportation’s employee handbook

  • Maintains a positive, clean, organized and safe work environment.

  • Performs all duties as outlined on the daily checklist.

  • Establishes effective and positive communication with all team members.

  • Ensures accurate revenue collection and payment processing for reservations.

  • Promotes and practices safe work habits, reporting potential safety hazards, to the Reservations Supervisor or manager on duty.

  • Pro-active in solving customer problems and satisfying customers in various situations.

 

Qualifications:

Must possess the minimum qualifications for Sales & Service Agent as well as including but not limited to:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum one year of sales and customer service experience

  • Possess a sincere desire for delivering 1st-rate customer service

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, evenings and special events as needed.

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented and able to multi-task.

  • This position will require frequent sitting and use of hands and arms.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Must possess skills required to fulfill expected job duties including but not limited to:

  • must be able to communicate by telephone, and in person in a courteous, friendly and professional manner with all clients, vendors, staff and co-workers

  • the ability to listen to incoming requests for service and dispatch services at the same time (multi-tasking skills)

  • good memory for details and procedures

  • good judgment and decision making skills

  • the ability to work well in a team environment

  • must type at least 30wpm

  • have experience with various computer programs such as excel, & word

  • be able to learn the reservations system

 Job Location:

Work is performed usually at the BAC Transportation main office in Anchorage, Alaska. All BAC Transportation vehicles and buildings are smoke-free.

Shift Description:

This work requires sitting for long periods. It can be stressful when dealing with emergencies or with routine work punctuated by very busy periods.
